Mrs. Marcia Oden
8th Grade Homeroom
Middle School Religion & Math
Hello, I am Mrs. Marcia Oden, the 8th Grade Homeroom and middle school Religion and Math teacher. I am very happy to be teaching in my dream school and classroom.
I was born and raised in the Catholic Diocese of Wichita and attended Wichita Catholic Schools growing up. I am the oldest of six kids. In 2004, I earned my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a Middle Level Mathematics Endorsement and a Minor in Leadership Studies and Programs at Kansas State University. This will be my eighth year teaching at St. Mary and my tenth year of teaching middle school. My husband Scott and I have been married for eleven years. We have four wonderful children (Natalie - 9, Caleb - 8, Madeline - 6, and Xavier - 1) and a yellow lab (Winchester). As a family, we keep very busy with St. Mary School, St. Mary Parish, 4-H, and various adventures. Some of our adventures include snow skiing, camping, canoeing, hiking, biking, swimming, gardening, watching football, playing board games, home remodeling projects, and other DIY projects. I also personally enjoy traveling, scrapbooking, sewing, home decorating, organizing, photography, reading, softball, piano, and family time. In November 2018, I took the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Fatima, Portugal and Lourdes, France with my Mom. Someday I hope to walk the Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James).
We work hard in middle school forming saints and great mathematicians. In 8th Grade Homeroom we will work a lot on organization, leadership, and preparing to leave St. Mary for new adventures and success in high school. Please take a peek at the syllabus and monthly newsletters at the right to see a glimpse of everything going on in our classroom.
